We work with many designers, menswear, swimwear, bridal, children’s and more! One things we learned during the apparel pattern making processes, for this adorable kids line, is that you don’t need to have perfect sketches! Visit our look book for more photos of the capsule collection.

When you are developing a fashion collection you do not need to have great illustration skills. Loose or rough sketches are acceptable when you find a good pattern maker that can translate your vision from idea to a sewn sample! Substitute detailed sketches with not so perfect drawings and add design notes that describing your vision, making it easier for the dress maker to understand your idea. Ensure that you explain to your pattern maker all the special details that will make up your unique design. You can also add magazine clippings that show the exact sleeves or hemlines you desire. A skilled dress maker will be able to create apparel patterns just how you envisioned them with the above information.

The latest children’s collection we developed in our Bay Thread pattern making studio was created with simple sketches and the designer’s style notes. Simple silhouettes and bright fabrics make this collection fun and delightful. The jersey knits add ease and comfort to each style. Mommies and daddies can appreciate ease as their little ones run around the room screaming, “no, no, no!”
